Maria (Andrade) DaCosta, age 89 of Danbury and formerly of Bridgeport, the beloved wife of the late Louis DaCosta, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 15, 2013 in Danbury Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Mount Vernon, NY on June 30, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Firmina (Goncalves) Andrade. Maria was a Bridgeport resident most of her life and moved to her daughter Cecelia’s home in Danbury seven years ago. She was a retired employee of Columbia Records, Bridgeport Brass, and Remington Shaver Co. in Bridgeport. Survivors include her beloved daughters, Irene DaCosta of NY, NY, Linda Krusinski of Sudbury, MA, and Cecelia Waldo of Danbury, CT as well as her grandchildren, Richard and Suzee Krusinski, and Elizabeth Lucchesi and Christopher Waldo. She was predeceased by one son, Jack Richard DaCosta who was killed in the Vietnam War and two brothers, Manuel and Joseph Andrade. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 9:30 AM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport and at 10:30 AM in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home.
