Maria D. (Rafael) Gomes, age 87 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Bridgeport Manor with her loving family by her side. Born in Antigo, Montalegre, Portugal on August 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Clementina (Dias) Rafael, and was a Bridgeport resident since 1966. Survivors include her loving husband, Manuel A. Gomes, her beloved son, Tony Gomes both of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Maria Lurdes Rafael, her brothers, Augusto, Antonio, Jose and Domingos Rafael, and her sisters, Arminda Dias and Alzira Cabeleira. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 9:00 AM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport and at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial.
